We’re looking for a Principal AI engineer who can design, build, and scale AI systems end-to-end, while taking ownership of architectural decisions and contributing to the company’s overall AI strategy.

What you will work on

Define and drive AI architecture and strategy across one or more of our ventures
Design and build AI systems end-to-end (from prototype to production)
Architect AI services that integrate seamlessly with our backend systems (primarily Node.js/TypeScript)
Evaluate new models, tools, and frameworks and decide what's worth adopting
Collaborate closely with a small, high-performing cross-functional team to ship AI-first features
Ensure scalability, reliability, security, and cost-efficiency of AI solutions
Operate with high ownership and autonomy in technical decision-making
Mentor engineers and raise the overall AI expertise within the company

Your qualifications & experience

7+ years in software engineering, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML systems
Proven experience designing and deploying production-grade AI solutions
Strong understanding of LLM-based systems — RAG, agents, fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks
Hands-on with Python and AI/ML tooling (PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or similar)
Working experience with Node.js/TypeScript (our core backend stack)
Solid grasp of embeddings, vector databases, retrieval systems, and data pipelines
Experience exposing AI services via REST or GraphQL APIs
Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Strong system design skills and the ability to translate business problems into robust AI solutions
Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical decisions

Bonus points:

Experience building AI-native products from scratch
Familiarity with multi-agent systems and MLOps practices
Track record of optimizing model performance, latency, and cost
Startup or venture-building experience
