Urbify started as a small idea with dedicated founders who listened to the market, made adjustments based on feedback, and focused on building something people actually needed. Now, it’s a go-to platform for online retailers, brands, and carriers looking to manage and improve their express delivery services.
Urbify’s platform is built to handle the needs of modern delivery, with features for next- and same-day service and an adaptable API that lets businesses customize based on their unique needs. With logistics hubs in 13 cities across Germany and Austria, Urbify works with well-known brands in fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and food to deliver a better customer experience.
The initial challenge was transforming the existing dissatisfaction with home delivery into a positive experience. Many German startups attempted to address this market need with non-tech approaches, resulting in slow innovation and inadequate customer satisfaction. Urbify aimed to integrate operational excellence with advanced technology to provide a scalable, user-friendly, and efficient delivery solution.
Developing an MVP and tested it in real-market conditions, partnering with REWE, Germany’s second-biggest supermarket chain. This hands-on approach provided invaluable insights, allowing Urbify to refine its product and services based on real-time feedback.
Customer- and market-centric approach: Urbify focused on delivering a product that directly responded to customer and market needs. Continuous development was based on real data from actual deliveries.
Product & service first, factory later: Prioritizing the development of a robust solution before building the company infrastructure around it ensured that the product met market demands effectively.
Leveraging human capital rhrough technology: Understanding how users and stakeholders operate, Urbify designed technology to enhance human efficiency and satisfaction.
Within two years, Urbify formed partnerships with leading companies like ASOS, Inditex, Dunkin’ Donuts, REWE, The Hut Group, and NA-KD. The results of Urbify’s innovative approach were:

Urbify grew from a small-scale experiment into Germany’s leading same-day and next-day delivery platform, generating over 20 million euros in revenue. External investment was secured to fuel further growth while maintaining a positive cash burn-to-new-customer ratio.
