This includes:

  • Systems of record (e.g. databases, ERPs, CRM)
  • IoT devices and sensors that feed real-time data
  • Supply chain and physical infrastructure supporting the business

This layer provides the stability, accuracy, and inputs needed for higher layers to operate effectively.
